Anytime there are model planes in the air, you can be sure that somebody is having fun... nevertheless, the club runs several Fun Fly events during the year, which always seem to attract a few extra folks to the field to take in the smell of burning fuel, eat a few hot dogs and have a cup of tea. The usual registration fee is $5.00, for which you get lunch and a chance at some prizes drawn at the field.
As the St. John's R/C Flyers is a MAAC chartered club, proof of MAAC coverage is required to operate at our fields and events.

July 30-31 - Gander Festival of Flight, Gander Screaming Eagles
NOTE: Other groups now use the Bell Island airstrip for their slalom and drag racing events. We have coordinated our fun-fly dates with them to avoid conflicts but before venturing out for a casual day of flying, be sure to check their schedule so you won't waste a trip over. Click here.
