After a weekend of delay due to weather, the Battle of Bauline finally went
ahead, June.08.03. It was a great day for flying and a great day for combat!
Each pilot was supplied with a strip ( from 20- 40ft ) of paper ribbon. Red and yellow colored ribbon was used in this event which proved to be very visible against the blue sky. Various other guide lines applied to the pilots and their plane, such as plane size, weight and power. Notice that some pilot(s) used half the ribbon on their plane and they ended up wearing the other half. So, is there a bonus round in combat that I didn't know about? Like, 'fashion at the field' ? :) All in all a great day was had by all who attended. A thanks to Carl for organizing and following though with the event, a thanks to those members who gave their support and to the spectators which seemed to have a great time as well.
