Now that indoor flying has ended for the summer, we're all hoping for lots of great flying weather to see us through the next few months. As in previous years, we will be holding instructor night at the field every Monday through June, July and August (weather permitting). This year there will be a slight change from last year. We still have 2 instructors assigned for each night but since we missed so many days last year due to bad weather, we will have Tuesday designated as a rain date. This will ensure that as long as the weather permits on either Monday or Tuesday (not both), if a student arrives at the field looking for training, there will be instructors there to assist.
NOTE: Students are responsible for providing their own trainer box and trainer cord. Instructors will not have these items with them. You can purchase your own box and cord from Signal Hobbies or rent one from the club (subject to availability). If you wish to rent, you can keep it for the remainder of the season or until you get your wings (whichever comes first). At that time, if you return it to the club in good condition, you'll get a portion of the rental fee back. For rentals, contact Craig Trickett (propnut@nl.rogers.com)
June 7 Steve, John SThere will be an E-mail sent out by one of the instructors each Monday afternoon around five o'clock as to whether there will be any flying that evening.--The decision to fly or not to fly will be made by the instructors assigned for that date.--- Instructor phone numbers are available on the club web site. If fying is cancelled for Monday, we'll send out another note before 5:00 Tuesday to let everyone know if we're on for that night. If Tuesday is also a flop, that's it for anything official until the following Monday. However, students are reminded that on any fine evening, chances are that one or more instructors may still be available and interested in heading to the field so don't hesitate to make a few calls.
Indoor flying will resume again in September. Further information will be posted once the start date and other details have been confirmed.
